Most Memorable Travel Experience: It was my first trip to Africa… we landed in the Serengeti and en route to our bush camp, we stumbled upon a pack of lions resting in a tree. We were watching them quietly, when all of a sudden, the lions started to stir and we heard a low rumble off in the distance. The lions jumped down from the tree and we followed behind them as they headed towards the action. Before we knew it, we were in the middle of a scene that felt straight out of “The Lion King” - THOUSANDS of wildebeests were crossing a river, surrounding us and coming so close that they brushed the jeep as they ran by. Then we saw the herd part and in the middle stood a huge male lion - he proceeded to chase and tackle one of the wildebeest, followed by a female lion who killed another wildebeest and brought it back to a group of young lion cubs. Though there are no words to describe what it’s like to witness something like that firsthand in the African wilderness, I learned more and smiled more during my time there than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams. As cliché as it sounds, I think a trip to Africa changes you, and it is an experience I hope everyone has the opportunity to have, at least once in their lifetime.
Travel Tip: Be present! As hard as it may be sometimes, put down the phone and enjoy the moment!!
How Do You Define Luxury Travel? To me, “luxury travel” means immersing oneself in a new destination, while indulging in the very best levels of service, accommodations and experiences. Truly luxurious travel provides clients with personally tailored and curated experiences that not only meets, but anticipates and exceeds their specific needs and expectations. It also means peace of mind that all the little details have been taken care of behind the scenes, to ensure a seamless, memorable and unique travel experience.
If Your Personality Was Depicted in a Property, Which Would You Be? Dunton Hot Springs!!! Of course, I had to go with a Colorado property, since that is where I was born and raised. I think Dunton is the perfect combination of luxury and authenticity. It is not glitzy, nor is it a place to “see-and-be-seen”, but I believe Dunton offers a truly luxurious experience, unlike any other. It embodies every aspect of what a top-notch getaway should offer - disconnecting from the day-to-day, embracing nature and human connections, phenomenal food and top-notch service (not to mention it’s all-inclusive so you don’t worry about your bill at the end). Dunton is almost too good to be true - it’s the kind of place you’ll go home raving about and dream about returning to.
