As a young girl, Winnie paged through her mother’s Condé Nast Traveler magazines ear-marking destinations near and far. Inspired by her grandfather who spent much of his life exploring the world, Winnie always loved his globetrotting stories. Her favorite stories were the tales about Caribbean adventures on his 46-foot sailboat, The Whimsie.
Winnie’s parents were also avid travelers and planned extensive family vacations. Her most memorable trip was driving cross country as a teenager in a large RV motorhome for eight weeks. Often she was part of the planning process, reading aloud from the tattered Fodor’s Travel guide and highlighting the next route in Rand McNally’s Road Atlas.
As an adult, Winnie planned vacations for her husband, Sean, and their three boys for years. Introducing the children to the world beyond the backyard, their vacations involved planes, trains, automobiles, and over the years, friends and family asked for her comprehensive itineraries. They have stayed in fine hotels, experienced amazing cultures, and tasted sweets from around the world!
