I’ve always had a deep curiosity for other cultures and an interest in discovering the world. Some of the most meaningful moments happen when you step outside the expected, so I especially love helping uncover those hidden gems that make a trip feel personal and unique.
Working in this field lets me combine my attention to detail, love of travel, and drive to support others – all while learning something new about the world every day. “
Most Memorable Travel Experience: "In 2019, I traveled to Rovaniemi, Lapland with my family during the Christmas season and stayed at the ice hotel, which is rebuilt each year in a new design and lasts only a few months before melting in March. Temperatures in Lapland can drop below -20°C, and inside the hotel it stayed around -5°C. Everything was made of ice - the rooms, beds, bar, and even the chapel - except for the bathrooms. Reindeer hides were used as the first layer on the ice sculptures that served as beds or any surface where guests might sit.
Reindeer hold a special place in Finnish and Sámi culture. They are carefully herded and respected, and every part of the animal is used in a sustainable and meaningful way. Hunting is only allowed during specific seasons to ensure the population can regenerate, and even the antlers, which naturally fall off once a year, are collected and repurposed into kitchen utensils, tools, and decorative items. This tradition reflects the deep connection to nature and the resourcefulness that’s part of everyday life in northern Finland.
On Christmas Eve, we had a special dinner with a variety of seafood dishes, and reindeer soup served as the main course. That night, we wore thermal clothing and followed a routine to stay warm: first putting on our base layers, then getting into a smaller sleeping bag, and finally slipping into a larger insulated one. Only our faces were left uncovered, which made the experience of sleeping in a room entirely made of ice feel even more surreal. In the morning, the hotel staff brought us hot chocolate or juice to help us warm up and start the day.
On Christmas Day, we visited Santa Claus Village, where we crossed the Arctic Circle, rode in a reindeer sleigh through snowy forests, and stopped by Santa Claus’ Main Post Office - where letters from all over the world arrive. It felt like stepping into a storybook.
At the end of our stay, we were given an official certificate to mark that we had spent the night at the ice hotel at the North Pole."
Travel Tip: Always remember to pack the appropriate power adapter for the country you're visiting.
